Albion Women suffered their first defeat of the season as they were beaten by Hull City Ladies at the Versa Sportswear Stadium on Sunday.
Strikes from Hope Knight (2), Ellie Tanser and Erin Nicholson meant that Phoebe Warner’s second half goal wasn’t enough to claim any points in North Ferriby.

Manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made eight changes to the side that beat Stourbridge in their FAWNL Cup opener. She opted for a completely different front-line, which included a first start for new signing Monique Robinson, who made her debut in midweek.
Some valiant early pressure from the Baggies handed them a strong start to proceedings. Ellie May saw two crashing efforts cleared off the line, while Robinson might’ve notched a debut goal had it not been for the offside flag – but Albion couldn’t find an elusive opener.
Yet it was Hull who took the lead, Knight latched upon a loose ball in the visitors’ penalty area, before thumping past the onrushing Lavarna Johnson.
After a quiet period, the hosts doubled their advantage just minutes from half-time. Tigresses skipper Tanser was left to head home a corner after finding space at the back post.

The hosts made it three just inside the hour as Nicholson’s corner found its way into the Baggies goal, before Warner notched what would turn out to be a consolation after some neat play on the right-hand-side.
Knight’s goal from the penalty spot ended any hopes of a visiting comeback, leaving Albion to return to the Midlands empty-handed.
Hodgetts-Still’s Baggies are next in action on Sunday, August 31, when they face Liverpool Feds.
