Albion Women were beaten 3-1 at Huddersfield Town in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division on Sunday.
Head Coach Jenny Sugarman made two changes to the team that drew at home to AFC Fylde, Jess Davies returning to the starting XI along with Abi Loydon.
Ahead of kick-off, both sides observed a minute’s silence to honour the passing of Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Shannon Stamps and Jannelle Straker went close to opening the scoring for the Baggies early on, but instead it was Huddersfield’s Georgia Marshall who netted first down the other end after 30 minutes.
They soon doubled their advantage through Laura Elford’s close-range finish, ensuring the Terriers took a 2-0 lead into half-time.
Ria Montgomery then added a third 15 minutes after the interval to all but seal the three points for the hosts – though Albion’s Stamps did net a consolation goal in stoppage time.
