Forest Green Rovers 2-0 Albion

Jamie Andrews in action.

Albion suffered a 2-0 defeat by Forest Green Rovers at The Bolt New Lawn Stadium on Friday night.

The Baggies were represented by a host of youngsters in the Cotswolds, with Carlos Corberán set to name an experienced starting XI in the final outing of pre-season at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Albion held their own throughout the early exchanges and went close to going in front when Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Caleb Taylor whistled efforts just over the bar.

But the hosts took the lead five minutes before the break, courtesy of a back post header from a trialist.

Rovers skipper Dominic Bernard doubled the hosts’ lead midway through the second half with a cool left-foot volley.

The young Baggies battled throughout the 90 minutes and were applauded off the field by the 492 Albion fans who made the trip down the M5.
