Felix Horn Myhre | 'We expect to offer more'

Felix Horn Myhre is interviewed by WBA TV after the Birmingham game

Felix Horn Myhre admitted Albion’s performance on Saturday afternoon against Birmingham City was “flat”.

The Baggies were beaten 1-0 by Blues at The Hawthorns - forward August Priske scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the closing stages of the opening half.

Horn Myhre and fellow Norwegian Aune Heggebø went close in the first 45, with Brayann Pereira, Ousmane Diakité and Isaac Price all trying their luck in the second period.

In truth, though, the hosts will be disappointed to have not tested James Beadle between the sticks for the visitors more, and Felix believes his side lacked the required “quality” to earn anything from the lunchtime encounter.

The midfielder said: “I think the performance was flat, to be honest. We started the first half quite well and we created some chances that we probably should’ve scored.

“We hit the post and then I had a big chance with a header, but we didn’t manage to capitalise on those chances and we lost a little bit of our momentum.

“We gave away a penalty which they scored and after that we did our best and everyone worked hard, but we lacked quality in the final third.

“I can’t stop thinking about the header I had. I had some nice moments and I also had some bad moments in the game. Honestly, the things that stick in your head are the chances you miss, so I’m a bit disappointed about that. I’ll keep working hard in training to try and improve.

“We were eager to bounce back after the last game and we trained really well over the break. It’s hard to say why there was a lack of intensity and energy. We really wanted to give a good performance but we didn’t manage to.

“We might have done enough to get one point, but Max has also pulled off some incredible saves. I’m not really sure about all of the stats and how everything like that is, but I expect us to do more and offer more.

“With the quality we have in the team, we should be able to perform better and it shouldn’t be about whether we deserve something or not, it should be about deserving three. We definitely didn’t deserve three today.

“Fortunately we have a chance to respond on Tuesday at Wrexham. It’s the best thing to be able to get back out and perform when you’ve lost. You want to prove you can turn things around. Luckily, in this league, we play plenty of games so we have a chance to bounce back in what we know will be another tough game.”
