Albion Women head to Liverpool Feds for their fourth game of the FAWNL Northern Premier season on Sunday afternoon (ko 2pm).
Charlie Fripp’s side have won their last two matches across league and cup competitions, and have their sights set on building further momentum with their visit to Walton Hall Park, a place where they enjoyed their trip last term.
The Baggies sit sixth in the league standings, and will look to catch up with Sunday’s opposition by claiming the three points on offer this weekend.
Last time out
It was a first league victory of the 2026/27 season for Fripp and his side, as they beat Peterborough United 3-1 in their third encounter of the campaign.
Phoebe Hollin, Riya Mannu and Rhianne Rush were all on target against The Posh at the Valley Stadium in their final August fixture.
The opposition
Liverpool Feds should come into Sunday’s encounter full of confidence after winning two of their first three league matches to date.
The Feds beat Hull City Ladies and Derby County, either side of a surprising defeat to Peterborough, but will also take pride from their FAWNL Cup showings, as they dispatched both AFC Fylde and Chorley in Group Q.
Manager Leanne Duffy has spent over a decade at the club, including eight as Manager after initially joining in 2015 as Assistant Manager.
A League Cup and FA Cup winner during a playing career with Liverpool and Everton, Duffy helped the club to promotion to the FAWNL Northern Premier back in 2022, and they’ve become an established tier-three name since.
Feds finished a place and five points below the Baggies last term, and both sides will be well aware of the two previous entertaining meetings between the teams in 2025/26.

Albion dug deep to secure a last-gasp victory over Liverpool Feds in their most recent meeting. Ella Haughey and Taylor Reynolds’ goals had the tie level in added time, but Marli Rhodes popped up with a late strike to spark pandemonium at the Alexander Stadium and to hand the hosts the win.

Walton Hall Park was the site of late drama in August of 2025. The visiting Baggies trailed by two goals heading into the final stages on Merseyside, but Rhianne Oakley, Phoebe Warner and Kate Evans scored to turn the match around and grasp a heroic three points.

Pre-match thoughts
Rhianne Rush says she has her spark back after joining the Baggies in the summer.
The midfielder scored her first goal for the club against Peterborough United at the end of August, and has cited the positive dressing room atmosphere as a reason for improving her enjoyment on and off the field.
And it’s not just ‘Rushy’ who has seen her confidence grow over the last few weeks, but the entire Albion team, after scoring nine goals across their last two matches - including six against Lye Town last weekend.
With the game against Liverpool Feds in their midst, Rhianne believes the squad’s “character” will be key to coming out on top of a physical clash on Merseyside.
She said: “We have to trust the process and be patient. There were moments where we could’ve punished Lye more in the first half, but what we’ve seen in the games we’ve had so far is about our confidence - and it’s growing.
“We feel it was the perfect game to get that boost. That game was especially important for the squad in general to get minutes, build confidence and get momentum ready for us to go back into league action.
“Three points require goals, and we feel we’re in a better place for that now. We’ve got characters, and we hold each other high, but we were disappointed with the score at half-time.
“There was a nice variation in the goals we did score, which was great to see. It’s something we can bring into our league games as they go on; it’s good to be unpredictable in how we can punish teams.
“That’s also the case with how we win the ball back, and keep possession. We worked so hard in training to get there, so it’s nice to see that reflected in the most recent match.
“I’ve had an amazing time here so far. Something for me personally is to grow my confidence. I’ve had some personal stuff happen over the last couple of years so it’s nice to have my spark back.
“All of the girls are amazing for that, the staff and the facilities are also brilliant. The backing the club has is brilliant, and I’m glad I came - it’s exciting to see what we can do.
“Everyone is so welcoming and friendly; it’s a great group of girls. I can’t think of any flaw, and I look forward to coming to training. The intensity is really high, and the group is super competitive, so it’s something that challenges me. We all want the best for each other.
“I’m trying to score more goals myself this season. We want to compete towards the top of the table, and I think momentum is crucial to that, starting with this weekend against Liverpool Feds - we’re all looking forward to it.”

Prices are cheaper when purchased in advance, with adult tickets priced £6, concessions at £4 and U16s available for just £1 - these can be purchased here.
However, when purchased on the gate at Walton Hall Park, tickets are priced at £8 for adults, £6 for concessions and U16s at £2.
