Albion Women have their hopes set on completing an unbeaten November when they host Halifax in the FAWNL Northern Premier division on Sunday (2pm).
The Baggies have picked up wins against Leeds United, Sporting Khalsa and, most recently Cambridge United, along with a draw against Middlesbrough during the month.
Siobhan Hodgetts-Still’s side welcome bottom-placed Halifax to the Alexander Stadium having not lost at their home ground since October 22nd.
Last time out
Albion beat Cambridge United in their Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie last weekend. Their tier-four opponents gave them plenty to think about at the Alexander Stadium, but goals from Ellie May and Amya Hammond-McLean were the telling touches as the hosts secured a 2-0 win – along with a place in round three.

The opposition
Visitors Halifax have little ground to make up to reach the teams above them, despite being bottom of the FAWNL Northern Premier after 10 games.
Rob Mitchell’s side were narrowly beaten by Liverpool Feds in their last league encounter, where Emily Cole’s strike in the 80th-minute was enough to secure all three points for the Merseyside outfit.
Though they remain at the foot of the table, Halifax are within a point of both Sporting Khalsa and Loughborough Lightning, and will provide a stern test for the Baggies when they visit this weekend.
Previous meetings
Halifax 2-3 Albion Women – January 2025
Albion secured a battling victory in treacherous conditions at Ings Lane, home of Tadcaster Albion FC. The visitors steamed into a two-goal advantage courtesy of Fran Orthodoxou and Rhianne Oakley, before Megan Cardenas got one back for Halifax, but Simran Jhamat’s strike meant a late Sienna Limbert effort couldn’t deny Hodgetts-Still’s side all three points.
Albion Women 4-0 Halifax – August 2024
The Baggies opened their 2024/25 home league campaign with a 4-0 win over their Yorkshire opponents. A second-half brace from Ashlee Brown, followed by an own goal and a Mariam Mahmood strike guided Hodgetts-Still’s side to three points at the Valley Stadium.
Albion Women 1-0 Halifax – March 2024
It was a fourth unbeaten FAWNL Northern Premier match as Hodgetts-Still’s Albion beat Halifax in March of 2024. Delphi Cole’s effort was enough to secure a narrow triumph at the Valley Stadium, a result that helped the Baggies move up to fifth in the league standings – above rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pre-match thoughts
Goalkeeper Charlotte Clarke has settled in seamlessly since rejoining the club in the summer.
The shot-stopper made the permanent switch to The Hawthorns having previously been on loan from Liverpool during the 2022/23 campaign – when she won supporters’ player of the season.
In light of a clean sheet against Cambridge last weekend, Clarke says she’s not only “loved” being back in B71 under Hodgetts-Still’s guidance, but has pushed her team-mates to take their cup shutouts into their league form.
She said: “I have absolutely loved being back at the club. My first time here is what made me want to come back.
“The girls are amazing and always so supportive, and I’m enjoying every bit of being here. We’ve had a great start to the season and we obviously want to finish as high as we can in the league.
“We’ve put ourselves in a great position at the start of the season, we have faith that we can carry this through to the new year and for the rest of the campaign.
“It’s been a good month for us so far, we want to continue this unbeaten run and take that into the new year. We have faith that we can do it and it’s just making sure we can continue the form we are in. We just keep backing each other.
“We were really happy with the clean sheet last weekend. I’d like us to transfer our clean sheets to the league, too, but it shows how hard we’re working to keep them every week.
“The competition has been very healthy, we’re all pushing each other as much as we can. It’s a really great environment to be in and we get on really well too – it makes training really fun and competitive.
“I think we’re all positive going into Halifax. We obviously want to continue our unbeaten run and keep climbing up the table.
“With so many games heading into the Christmas break, we want to win all of them and get as many points as possible – not forgetting trying to progress as far as we can in every cup.”
