Midfielder Ousmane Diakité made his senior international debut for Mali in what was a mixed evening of action for Baggies abroad on Tuesday evening.

Diakité came off the bench in the 64th minute of Mali's friendly fixture against the Football Union of Russia in St. Petersburg and helped guide his nation to a goalless draw against the hosts.

Ivan Oblyakov spurned a first-half spot kick, and the African nation held out to earn a solid draw in a game of little goalmouth action.

There was disappointment for young Wales duo Alex Williams and Ollie Bostock who fell to U21 EURO Qualifying defeat against Denmark.

The Danes cruised to a 4-0 victory over the young Welshmen, with Alex Williams playing 79 minutes and Ollie Bostock coming off the bench at half-time in the encounter.

Three first half strikes from Adam Daghim, Clement Bischoff and Conrad Harder did the damage for the hosts, before August Priske sealed the win late on at the Vejle Stadion.

In Cardiff, Isaac Price played the first 45 minutes of Northern Ireland's 1-1 friendly draw with Wales.

Jamie Donley had Michael O'Neill's side ahead at the break, before Stoke winger Sorba Thomas equalised almost instantly following the restart.

Neither side could find a winner at the home of the Bluebirds, with each of the home nations needing to settle for the draw.

Finally, Jayson Molumby started and played an hour for the Republic of Ireland in their friendly fixture with North Macedonia at the Aviva Stadium.

The hosts controlled large parts of the encounter and saw two goals disallowed in the first half with Troy Parrott the man left frustrated on each occasion.

However, they couldn't find a winner despite their domination of the play and were forced to accept a goalless draw in Dublin.
