Carly Davies has been appointed as the new Albion Women assistant manager

Albion Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Carly Davies as assistant manager.

Davies, who will work alongside Liam Wall and the current technical staff, arrives at The Hawthorns with vast amounts of experience in the women’s game.

She spent over 20 years at Aston Villa, first as a player and then a coach, and has also enjoyed a spell with England Under-19s.

Head Coach Jenny Sugarman worked alongside Davies as part of the same coaching group at Villa before joining the Albion a year ago, and the boss is looking forward to reuniting with her former colleague.

“The appointment of Carly to our technical team is massive for myself and the team,” said Jenny.

“Having worked with her before I know she will bring lots of ideas and detail to improve the team, as well as great energy and quality coaching on the training pitch.

“Alongside Liam, we now have two excellent assistant managers and we all compliment each other really well. The recruitment in our staff team was a priority for the summer and I’m delighted with the people we have on board.”

Speaking on her arrival, Davies added: “I’m delighted to have joined the club.

“Jenny’s appointment was the start of the progress that Albion have shown over the past 12 months, and I’m excited to be here for the second year of that.

“I have worked with Jenny before, she’s a great coach and a great person. I know her values, she believes in people first, which is also a core value of mine.”
