Carlos Corberán reflects on Hull City point

Carlos Corberán is interviewed after Albion's draw against Hull

Carlos Corberán believes the 1-1 scoreline at Hull City on Saturday lunchtime was a "fair result".

The Baggies fought back from one goal down to take a point away from the MKM Stadium thanks to Darnell Furlong's impressive first-half header.

The boss insists both sides had opportunities to win the game, but was pleased to see his group make it three matches unbeaten on their travels in the Sky Bet Championship against a top-six rival.

Carlos said: “I think if we analyse the game, the draw today is probably a fair result.

“Both teams were competing very well and both teams had chances to score goals. At the end of the match, I think the number of chances has been equal.

“The game was balanced. Of course, we wanted to win, but sometimes it’s good to take a point.

“I don’t think Hull were better than us in the moment that they scored their goal. Before that, we had better chances than them to score the first goal of the game.

“Unfortunately, this action surprised us and they showed the individual quality they have in that moment. Players like Fabio Carvalho, Anass Zaroury and Jaden Philogene are very dangerous players to compete against.

“Our equaliser came from a set-piece and we cannot stop searching for new ways to score from set-pieces.

“It’s one area we had to improve and we were focused to do it. We need to keep insisting now because we have scored from a set-piece in the last two games.

“The set-piece goal helped us achieve three points on Tuesday, and one point today.

“Right now, we have improved our results away. We drew with Ipswich, we won at Plymouth and then we drew today. We haven’t lost any of our last three on the road. That’s important.

“We need to make this point work and keep growing and improving. We have to keep showing the mentality that the players put into the game today to achieve this point.”
