Albion Women are delighted to announce the signing of young attacker Riya Mannu on a dual-registration basis from Birmingham City until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has experience at WSL 2 level and became the first South Asian player to represent Blues Women in a league match when she came on as a substitute during their 4-0 win over Reading in March of 2024.
Mannu scored her first senior Birmingham goal in her first start for the club in a 2-2 draw with Bristol City, and was also named Professional Game Academy Player of the Season for 2023/24.
Albion Women Manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still was delighted to secure her services, saying: “I’ve been aware of Riya for quite some time, and she's done well at Birmingham City.
“She's now eager to gain valuable experience in the FAWNL Northern Premier. Riya is known for her creativity, her desire to be on the ball and the intensity she brings to her play.
“I’m thrilled to have her join us and I’m looking forward to watching her development throughout the season."
Mannu insists she’s buzzing to get started in B71.
She said: “I’m really excited. I can’t wait to get started with the next part of the season and to test myself more in senior football.
“I’m buzzing to get going and get stuck into training and the matches. All the players have made me feel really welcome and I’m excited to get to know everyone on and off the pitch."
