Albion Women were beaten 6-0 by Nottingham Forest in their FAW National League Northern Premier Division 2022/23 season opener on Sunday.
Despite an even first 45 minutes at Ray Hall Lane, it was the visitors who took a one-goal lead into half-time through Charlotte Steggles’ header.
Forest then netted five times during the second period as Charlotte Greengrass, Gianna Mitchell, Becky Anderson, Mai Moncaster and Yamin Mosby helped the away side claim victory.
Jenny Sugarman’s team have an opportunity to bounce back this Sunday (August 28, ko 2pm) when they face Loughborough Lightning.
