Albion Women bowed out of the FAWNL Cup at the hands of AFC Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors scored twice either side of half time through Georgia Wilson and Jenna Markham.

Phoebe Warner in action against Bournemouth.

Manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made just one enforced change to their quarter-final win over Wolves. Captain Olivia Rabjohn missed out and was replaced by fellow midfielder Fran Orthodoxou.

Though the Baggies had an earlier opportunity through Taylor Reynolds, the visitors took the lead. Wilson found Charlotte Clarke’s bottom corner on the counter-attack.

A chance for Monique Robinson, which she chipped just wide, left the hosts down by one at the half-time break.

Zoe Creaney in action against Bournemouth.

The Cherries doubled their lead with nine minutes left in the tie, as Markham scored from close range - despite the persistence of Hannah George to block several efforts.

Fran Orthodoxou arrowed wide of the target, but otherwise, Albion couldn’t muster any further efforts on goal, and were left to mull the end of their best-ever FAWNL Cup run.

Albion: Clarke; Green, Creaney, George; Reynolds (May 62’), Orthodoxou, Watkins, Haughey; Warner (Rhodes 70’), Robinson (Pullen 90’), Oakley.
