The Baggies are back in Sky Bet Championship action in midweek, hosting Norwich City at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm).

Eric Ramsay's first match in charge ended in a 3-2 defeat under the lights on Friday, with high-flying Middlesbrough claiming a last-gasp winner in front of the Smethwick.

The Canaries head to the West Midlands sat inside the bottom three, but they did pick up an incredibly important 2-1 triumph at Wrexham on Saturday afternoon.

A first-half effort from striker Josh Maja was enough for the Throstles to claim three points in the reverse fixture back in early October.

The opposition

Norwich City endured a dreadful first half of the 2025/26 season, but have found renewed hope and optimism over the last six weeks.

The Canaries claimed a 2-1 victory at Wrexham on Saturday afternoon thanks to efforts from Anis Slimane and Jovon Makama, a result which means they'll arrive at The Hawthorns knowing a win could push them out of the relegation zone for the first time since the middle of October.

Liam Manning was relieved of his duties in early November, with 51-year-old Belgian Philippe Clement taking over. Clement has managed a host of clubs including Monaco and Club Brugge among others during his career, and has won five, drawn three and lost four of his 12 matches in charge.

Tuesday's guests are four unbeaten on their travels and have returned home victorious from their two most recent trips - winning 2-1 at both QPR and Wrexham.

They have the chance in midweek to claim a third successive win in all competitions for the first time since a run of three in March 2024.

Memorable meeting

One of Albion's most famous goals was scored against Tuesday's opponents.

Club legend Cyrille Regis fired home a rocket from range in an FA Cup clash with the Canaries at The Hawthorns back in 1982, an encounter the Baggies won 1-0.

It's always worth a watch. Check it out below.

Recent record on home soil against the Canaries

Albion 2-2 Norwich City, November 2024

The Baggies and the Canaries earned one point each from last season's clash in B71. A delicate flick from Mason Holgate put Albion into an early lead, but the visitors hit back twice to turn the game around before the break with Emiliano Marcondes equalising and Torbjørn Heggem putting the ball into his own net. However, Josh Maja was on hand to make it 2-2 towards the end of the first 45 with a tremendous finish. Both teams went in search of a third in the second period, but neither found it. Check out the highlights below.

Albion 1-0 Norwich City, December 2023

The hosts claimed three points against City on Boxing Day in 2023. Borja Sainz was sent off shortly after the half-hour mark and the Baggies capitalised by scoring the game's only goal five minutes into second period - Brandon Thomas-Asante nipping in to notch a close-range winner.

Albion 2-1 Norwich City, April 2023

The Baggies came from behind to beat the Canaries in the final home game of the 2022/23 season. Josh Sargent gave the Canaries the advantage with a tidy finish four minutes before the break, but Conor Townsend curled in a terrific free-kick on the stroke of half time. Jed Wallace proved to be the hero in the opening 11 minutes of the second 45, converting a cross from the left to seal all three points.

How's that for a stat

Albion have the chance to extend their unbeaten home run against Norwich City to five matches on Tuesday night. The Baggies have won two and drawn two of the previous four clashes with the Canaries at The Hawthorns.

None of Albion's last ten league games have ended level (W3, L7). The last time the hosts drew a league game was in late November when they held 1-1 at home by Birmingham City.

There have been at least three goals scored in 10 of the last 14 matches in all competitions involving West Bromwich Albion.

Norwich City have the second-worst home record in the Championship, but would be sat in 11th place if the table was based on away form only. The Canaries have an overall away record of four wins, five draws and five defeats from their 14 fixtures on their travels.

Norwich City sit 22nd but have lost just three of their last 12 games in all competitions, winning six and drawing three.
