The opposition
Title-chasing Coventry City head to The Hawthorns buoyed by their 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough at the CBS Arena on Monday night.
Haji Wright's hat-trick pushed the Sky Blues back above Boro into top spot in the Sky Bet Championship ahead of their encounter with Eric Ramsay's Albion this weekend.
Coventry haven't competed in the Premier League since the 2000/01 season, but they've given themselves a wonderful opportunity to secure promotion to the top flight of English football with just 14 fixtures remaining.
They're a point clear of Middlesbrough in second and six in front of third-placed Millwall, but Saturday's guests will be watching Ipswich closely who have played two matches less than Frank Lampard's team and are eight behind.
Coventry have scored 66 goals in the Championship so far this term, a tally which is the highest out of any outfit in the entirety of the EFL.
They'll be determined to turn their away form around, mind. City haven't won any of their last eight encounters on the road (L5, D3), last claiming an away triumph towards the back end of November at Middlesbrough.
Lampard, now 47, had an incredible career as a player, winning 13 major trophies including the UEFA Champions League once and the Premier League three times. Now, he's looking to replicate that success he enjoyed as a midfielder once more as a manager.
He's been in charge of the Sky Blues since November 2024 and has turned them into one of the division's strongest forces. The former Chelsea, Derby County and Everton boss has a Coventry record of 35 victories, 19 defeats and 14 draws from his 68 matches.
Memorable meeting
Albion secured three points at home to the Sky Blues during the 2024/25 season.
Alex Mowatt's first-half opener was followed up by Karlan Grant's impressive individual strike in the second period as the hosts ran out 2-0 winners in December 2024.
Check out the highlights below.
Recent record on home soil against the Sky Blues
Albion 2-0 Coventry City, December 2024
The Baggies claimed a comfortable three points at home to Coventry last season. Alex Mowatt's deflected effort from outside the box handed them a 1-0 lead after 11 minutes. Karlan Grant made it 2-0 with just over 15 minutes left, gliding past a couple of opposition defenders and burying the ball in the bottom corner.
Albion 2-1 Coventry City, March 2024
The hosts hung on to bag three Sky Bet Championship points against their West Midlands rivals with two months of the 2023/24 term remaining. Mikey Johnston's splendid strike put Albion 1-0 up after six minutes before Grady Diangana converted a Tom Fellows cross from the right to make it two before the break. Haji Wright's 73rd-minute penalty made things nervy, but Carlos Corberán's team stayed strong and secured an important triumph. Watch the highlights below.
Albion 1-0 Coventry City, February 2023
The Throstles squeezed past the Sky Blues on a Friday night in B71 thanks to Grady Diangana's early goal. The DR Congo international slammed the ball into the back of the net from a yard out following a long throw from the right from Darnell Furlong.

The Sky Blues will be on the hunt for a first away win since the end of November 2025. They've lost their last four fixtures on the road at Birmingham City, Stoke City, Norwich City and QPR. They've played eight away matches since beating Middlesbrough 4-2 at the Riverside Stadium, drawing three and losing five.
