Albion have signed defender Brayann Pereira from Dutch top-flight side NEC Nijmegen in a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.
The right-back has penned a four-year contract to become the Baggies' 10th summer signing.
France-born Pereira, now 23, represented his country through the younger age groups, concluding with three appearances at the 2023 U20 World Cup.
He made his professional debut for Lens in January 2022, playing a handful of times for them, AJ Auxerre, and French third-tier team Bourg-Peronnas on loan, before moving to NEC.
Brayann arrives following three years in the Eredivisie, where he made 85 appearances across all competitions - including UEFA Champions League qualifiers - scoring three times and claiming seven assists.
“I’m really happy to be here,” Albion’s newest recruit told WBA TV. “I think the English competition will be really good for me because it will match with my playing style.
“I prefer to play at right-back, but, in my old team, I played as a centre-back on the right side because we played with three central defenders.
“I want to adapt and I am here to give my best. If the coach wants to put me in any position, then I am ready and willing to give my best.
“I have watched a little bit of the Championship because one of my friends plays for Stoke City, Lamine Cisse. This is how I know the competition is really intense and really competitive. I also watched our game against Newcastle last week and I saw the Middlesbrough one too. The team is very good and I can’t wait to play.
“I want to give everything here. I want the team to have a great season. I want to show all my qualities and I want to make our fans happy.”
