Albion’s youngsters were beaten 1-2 by Norwich City in a Premier League 2 Division Two clash on Monday evening.

Richard Beale’s side fell behind at a rainy Hawthorns inside 15 minutes to an own-goal, though forced an immediate equaliser when Mo Faal quickly netted via a well-taken rebound.

But Norwich’s Brad Hills broke Baggies hearts, grabbing a 94th-minute winner and sending them back to Norfolk with the win.

It was an evening that started difficultly for the hosts, a Norwich corner causing chaos and eventually leading to an unfortunate own-goal.

However, Faal came to the rescue on 17 minutes – just after Albion had fallen behind – smashing home from close-range.

Ethan Ingram and Reece Hall saw separate attempts cleared off the line as the hosts pushed to get another, yet were halted by a stubborn Norwich defence.

Despite the conditions worsening following the interval, Albion still created chances – Rico Richards having one saved and Faal hitting a low drive wide.

The Baggies were indebted to goalkeeper Beau Hudd down the other end, too, his save stopping Abu Kamara’s goal-bound curler.

An injury to substitute Josh Saw meant Beale’s boys played the final stages with 10-men.

And the visitors took full advantage, Hills stealing the victory in the fourth minute of stoppage time to earn all three points.

Albion: Hudd, Ingram, Hall, Harper-Bailey (Shaw 60), Humphries, Andrews, R. Richards (Whitwell 70), M. Richards, Malcolm, Faal (Mitchell 70), Higgins (Trialist 57).

Substitutes: Nguepissi.
