Dauda Iddrisa enjoyed a memorable moment with Italy in November after scoring the goal which sent them through to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup competition.
The Blues cruised through the group stages of the youth tournament - beating host nation Qatar (1-0), as well as Bolivia (4-0) and South Africa (3-1), before dismissing Czechia 3-2 in their first knockout clash.
Defensive midfielder Iddrisa, who featured in three of those initial four clashes (starting twice), was thrown in from the off for Italy's last-16 tie with Uzbekistan - playing the full 90 minutes and coming up with a vital effort to ensure his team progressed to the quarter-finals.
With his native compatriots 2-1 up heading into the final 20 of the contest, the 17-year-old popped up at the back post to guide an inviting low cross from the left into the bottom corner - scoring his first-ever international goal and handing his team a two-goal advantage.
It proved to be a telling touch, too, with Uzbekistan scoring in added time to make it 3-2, meaning Dauda's effort was a match-winning one which now sets Italy up for their last-eight meeting with Burkina Faso on Friday, November 21 (ko 1.30pm).
Elsewhere, Ollie Bostock was skippering Wales' U19 side once again as they competed in a short preparatory tournament for the European Championships in June 2026.
The Baggies attacker led his country out in two of the matches against USA (1-1 - Wales won 3-2 on pens) and Germany (3-0 defeat), playing 80 and 57 minutes respectively, which proceeded a 27-minute substitute appearance against Japan where Bostock helped the young Dragons claim a stoppage-time goal to win 3-2.
Wales finished the format in third place behind USA (1st), Germany (2nd), with Japan ending the fixtures bottom of the pile.
On the other side of the globe, Adam Letlat represented Algeria's U20s as they took on native league teams during their international clashes.
The left-back gained 90 minutes in both games as the Greens beat the Academy of Medea 4-1 before losing 4-0 to Mouloudia Club d'Alger.
