Midfielder Abi Loydon has picked up Albion Women’s 2023/24 Young Player of the Season award.

The 19-year-old lifelong Baggies fan joined the club as an Under-10, rising through the ranks before breaking into the first team in recent campaigns.

She was chosen as the winner by the coaching staff - and Siobhan Hodgetts-Still says they have been impressed by her attitude and work-rate.

“Abi might have been a little frustrated at the start of the season, because there was a lot of competition in the middle of the pitch,” explained the head coach.

“But she didn’t moan. She came in, asked questions, improved on the things we spoke about, and worked hard for her chance.

“I remember her coming into the side to start in December time, and she hasn’t looked back since. Abi offers us quality and loads of energy - on and off the pitch!

“For me, it’s about her journey - and she is one of the first names on the teamsheet now.”

Well done, Abi!
