Morton nominated for League Two Player of the Month

Callum Morton has been nominated for February’s Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month after scoring five goals in seven games for Northampton Town.

The young striker has made a big impact at The PTS Academy Stadium since joining on a loan deal until the end of the season in January.

Chris Hussey (Cheltenham Town), Leon Legge (Port Vale) and Charles Vernam (Grimsby Town) have also been nominated for the award. The winner will be announced on Friday.

Morton was given the Club’s own monthly accolade on Saturday before The Cobblers’ fixture against Mansfield, and has started Northampton’s last five matches in a row.

The young Baggies forward netted his first Football League goal against Macclesfield on February 1, before braces against both Walsall and Grimsby a few weeks later.

He only recovered from a serious knee injury at the end of 2019, which had kept him out of action for nine months.

Good luck, Callum!
