The boys are back – and they are looking in fine fettle for the looming challenge of the remaining Championship games.
This week has seen Slaven Bilic and his coaching team able to step up the training intensity to Phase Two of the EFL’s safety protocols as the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic continues.
Phase Three, which will allow for full contact training is expected to follow shortly with the date of June 20, the provisional restart day for the Sky Bet Championship, now sharply in focus.
Slav was delighted with the condition of his players when they returned from their long weeks of isolated training during the nation’s lockdown – and this week’s action at the training ground confirmed that assessment.
Sporting and Technical Director Luke Dowling called in to watch some of the sessions and reported: “The boys are looking fit and sharp, no doubt about that. We remain committed to finishing off this campaign well, on the pitch where it matters.”
