Bilić calls for ‘focus’ from confident camp

Slaven Bilić says his side must retain their focus if they are to build on their four-match unbeaten run when they take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate this Saturday (3pm).

Albion have picked up ten points from a possible twelve since the start of February, beating Luton Town, Millwall and Reading, while they were held to a draw against Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

And Bilić is keen to make sure his team don’t take anything for granted against the Robins.

He said: “The mood is good, very good. We had a full week without a mid-week game so you can always use it to rest a little bit but also to load and we have done that exactly.

"The quality is good, the mood is good, the atmosphere is good, the energy is good and we are expecting and approaching the game against Bristol City in a good and positive way.

“Putting together a run is the key in every stage of the season, but now especially because it is coming towards the end, now is not the time to drop points.

"You need the results, you need good performances, you need to be reliable and responsible and you need to be focused and double focused more than ever and that is what we are trying to do in training and games."

“Bristol City are a very good team, they are a very ambitious club. They are up there and they want to go to the Premier League and they showed in the January transfer window with the few players they have got; they are ambitious and they are leaning towards that.

"They are a very organised team, they are very stubborn with top strikers who can hurt you and their work-rate is top. Like in every game we will have to be on top of our game.

‘We are ready for them, we have respect but we know we are in a very confident mood now. Not over confident because it is wrong, but we know what we have to do to be in a position to get a good result there.

The Albion boss also re-iterated how important a part the supporters can play in helping his men pick up three more crucial points with 3,000 Baggies preparing to travel down and get behind their team this weekend.

“The backing from the fans has been crucial so far," added Bilić.

They are very loud and we can hear them every game. It is always nice to see them when we are playing away from home and it is always great to make them proud and happy and we are going to do our best to make them happy again.”
