Bilić applauds impressive Albion display

Slaven Bilić hailed Albion's 2-0 win at QPR as his team's best of the season.

Albion extended their unbeaten start to the Sky Bet Championship campaign courtesy of maiden goals from Nathan Ferguson and Matheus Pereira.

Academy graduate Ferguson, 18, netted a superb solo goal shortly after the interval before summer loan signing Pereira made sure of all three points with a low free-kick late on.

The Baggies have now gone their opening nine league matches without tasting defeat, only the third time in the club's history, and, in the process, recorded a maiden clean sheet at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Speaking post-match, Bilić said: "We were playing against a very good team who are also a very attacking team, one who had won four games in a row. That means something.

"But I do not think Sam Johnstone had a shot to save and that says a great deal about the quality of our performance.

"I thought we were very, very, very good."

He added: "Straight from the start, we were on the front foot.

"If I do have a complaint, it is that we were rushing it in some great situations to score more goals.

"We need to be calm, but with the game situation like that, you maybe need one moment of brilliance and we got that from Nathan.

"We were pure class afterwards.

"I'm really pleased. Of course we can get better and it's still very early days, but I have to say the lads have been excellent."
