Your guide to Foundation Day

The Baggies will celebrate the inspirational work of The Albion Foundation when Cardiff City visit The Hawthorns on Saturday (ko 3pm) - and here is your guide to everything you need to know about Foundation Day.

What is Foundation Day?

Foundation Day is designed to highlight the charity’s work in the local community with this year’s focus centred on the need for a new specialist minibus to transport powerchair footballers. You can find out more about Foundation Day here.

What does The Albion Foundation do?

What is the Foundation raising money for?

The Albion Foundation is in dire need of a new minibus for its 23 disability teams - and you can help.

The charity's main mode of transport for its disability sides has clocked up 90,000 miles over a nine-year period and its regular breakdowns are becoming an increasing drain on the Foundation's finances and time. You can learn more about the bus here.

What can I do to help?

Baggies fans are invited to 'bring a pound to the ground' on Saturday to help raise money towards a £70,000 minibus to transport Albion’s back-to-back national league champions to and from fixtures and tournaments.

Bucket collectors will be located around The Hawthorns on the day. You can find out more details here.

What is the Club doing to help its charity?

Chief Executive Mark Jenkins believes everyone connected with the Club should be “immensely proud” of the inspirational work conducted by The Albion Foundation.

And Albion will match all money raised on Foundation Day as the charity targets the £70,000 required to purchase the specialist vehicle.
