Brunt and Morrison donate to the Foundation

Chris Brunt and James Morrison have handed over a £3,000 donation to The Albion Foundation, the proceeds from Albion’s Official Supporters’ Club annual dinner.

The dinner back in May saw ‘Brunty’ and ‘Mozza’ as guests of honour, where they were also presented with their first team caps and awarded joint winners of the Jeff Astle Memorial Trophy.

At the players’ request all funds raised from the night were donated to the Foundation, which they presented to the charity’s Director, Rob Lake, at the Supporters’ Club AGM.

As well as presenting the cheque, Brunt and Morrison were quizzed by members of the Supporters’ Club in a Q&A session at The Hawthorns.

When talking about his experiences of the Foundation, Brunt explained the donation was the natural thing to do.

“When you see the link between the Club and the Foundation growing, and it just seemed like the right thing to do,” said Chris.

“It’s a fantastic project and it’s something that I’m always really happy to be involved in, we’re delighted that the money can go a small way towards making a difference,” Chris said.

Reflecting on his time at the Club and seeing the charity’s work, Morrison was full of praise.

“I think the biggest thing for us is the staff and the amazing work that they do, and the connection that we have with them, it’s been a really good night,” said James.

Foundation Director, Rob Lake, applauded the efforts of the pair throughout the years.

“They’re both absolute stellar role models. They’ve been a constant throughout the time that I’ve been here and they take a genuine interest with the young people and what they’re doing,” said Rob.

“They care passionately about the Club and they have been fantastic ambassadors for us,” he said.
