Bring a pound to the ground for Foundation Day

Baggies fans are invited to 'bring a pound to the ground' when Slaven Bilić’s men take on Cardiff City at The Hawthorns on Foundation Day (ko 3pm).

Foundation Day 2019 will take place on Saturday, October 5 and is designed to highlight the charity’s work in the local community with this year’s focus centred on the need for a new specialist minibus to transport powerchair footballers.

And the Club will match every pound raised by supporters as the Foundation looks to find the cash required to purchase the specialist vehicle.

The £70,000 minibus will transport Albion’s back-to-back national league champions to and from fixtures and tournaments.

Bucket collectors will be located around The Hawthorns on the day with The Albion Foundation calling on supporters to 'bring a pound to the ground'.

Supporters who do not carry cash, or who will not be at the Cardiff game are welcome to donate £1 by texting TAF to 70470. Alternatively, visit the Foundation’s JustGiving page

The charity’s Director, Rob Lake, said: “We’re inviting fans to bring a bit of spare change to the Cardiff game to help us purchase a much-needed new minibus for our disabled athletes.

“We’re not asking for them to bring £5, £10 or even £20 each, our hope is that by all contributing a small amount we can collectively achieve something really special.

“We hope fans will enjoy the fact that they have contributed to something so essential for our powerchair footballers.”
