Albion U18s 2 Sunderland U18s 1

Albion Under-18s came from behind to beat Sunderland at the training ground in their most recent U18 Premier League encounter.

Peter Gilbert’s side fell behind within the first 20 minutes as Cole Kiernan opened the scoring, latching on to a rebound to tuck home with ease.

However the young Baggies fought back with a Finley Thorndike brace turning the game in their favour.

The attacking midfielder’s first goal came after the hour mark as he received the ball on the edge of the box and rifled an impressive effort into the top corner.

Then, with just eight minutes of normal time to play, Tom Fellows burst down the wing before cutting back a ball to the penalty spot for Thorndike to fire in the winner.

The result means Albion are fifth in the U18 Premier League with 12 points from seven games.

ALBION: Cann; Ingram (R Williams 63), H Williams, Taylor, Delaney; Iroegbunam, Smith (Andrews 27); Fellows, Thorndike (King 85), Malcolm; Wakeling.

Substitutes: Hill.
