‘Great result’ pleases goalscorer Hal

Hal Robson-Kanu says although it’s nice to get on the scoresheet, securing three points against Stoke on Monday night was of superior importance for Albion.

The Welsh forward fired in his third goal in four games to return the Baggies to the top of the Sky Bet Championship with a 2-0 win at the bet365 Stadium.

And Hal was delighted to help his side claim another important triumph.

“It is obviously nice to get on the scoresheet but it is even better to get the win,” he said.

“Away to Stoke is never and easy place to come in the league so to get the three points that was what we wanted.

“The best players in the world miss penalties so it is nice to get on the scoresheet. It is brilliant from Grady to win the penalty but it was the work that the lads did over the course of 90 minutes and we picked up the right result.

"It is very difficult to come here. In any league no matter where they are in the table, it is going to be a tough game at Stoke, especially on a Monday night. As we said, it was great to get the result and to put in a performance.

“The table will be a nice treat for the fans travelling back home. We will get back, rest up and focus in again on Saturday.”
