Get behind Albion on Women's Football Weekend

Albion Women Head Coach, Louis Sowe, has called on Baggies’ supporters to back the side tomorrow as they face Leafield Athletic in the Birmingham County Cup.

This Saturday and Sunday is Women’s Football Weekend, and with no game for Albion’s men, it presents a perfect opportunity for fans to cheer on the Women’s team.

Having not played for three weeks, Sowe and his side are relishing the task of getting back out onto the field and are grateful for any extra support.

“It would be great to see some new Albion fans tomorrow and we would certainly appreciate seeing some new faces,” Sowe said.

“Everyone is excited to play. Postponements have affected us in the past few weeks so we can’t wait to get back out on the pitch,” he added.

Although having ran out 6-1 winners in their last outing, Sowe is keen to keep the players’ feet on the ground ahead of tomorrow’s test.

“You can never underestimate your opponents in the County Cup.

“We narrowly beat Leafield in last year’s competition and they made it tough for us, so I’m expecting more of the same tomorrow,” said Sowe.

Season ticket holders at The Hawthorns go free for all Albion Women fixtures, with adults priced at £5, and concessions £1.

Albion Women play their home games at Walsall Wood Football Club, WS9 9NP.

Tomorrow’s action kicks off at 2pm as the side look to reach Round Three of the County Cup.
