Albion trio in Tuesday international action

Three Albion first-team players featured for their nations on Tuesday.

Ali Al-Habsi captained Oman to a 1-0 victory at home to India in World Cup qualifying.

Muhsen Al Ghassani scored the only goal of the game as Al-Habsi’s nation moved on to 12 points from five qualification games in Group E, leaving them in a strong position to qualify for the next stage.

Grady Diangana completed 76 minutes of England’s 2-1 loss to the Netherlands at Under-21 level.

The winger was replaced by Ryan Sessegnon in a game that saw Javairo Dilrosun score an injury-time winner for the Dutch in Doetinchem.

Kaj Sierhuis had earlier opened the scoring for Holland before Manchester United man Mason Greenwood equalised with his first goal at Under-21 level for the Young Lions.

Finally, Nathan Ferguson was brought on as a late substitute for England’s Under-20 side as they recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Iceland in Wycombe.

The Baggies youngster replaced Alex Cochrane after 79 minutes at Adams Park. Goals from Danny Loader and Ian Poveda (2) saw Keith Downing’s men claim a comprehensive victory.
