HRH The Duke of Cambridge is visiting Albion’s training ground today to garner more support for his “Heads Up” campaign.
The campaign was launched by the FA and Prince William to harness the power of football to draw attention to the importance of mental health.
“Heads Up” identified football as a uniquely powerful vehicle to reach men and there are stark reasons why there is a specific focus on that group.
Statistics shows men are three times more likely to take their own life than women and suicide remains the most likely cause of death for men under the age of 45.
The Prince passionately believes mental well-being is as important as physical health and he will meet with Head Coach Slaven Bilic, first-team players and staff to discuss the issue.
His visit is scheduled to last 90 minutes and is Albion’s first Royal visit for 88 years.
