Albion's pre-season plans take shape

Albion will host AFC Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly at The Hawthorns as they finalise their preparations for the start of the 2019/20 season.

The Baggies will entertain the Premier League club on Friday, July 26 (8pm ko) as they step up their plans for the forthcoming Sky Bet Championship campaign, which gets underway on Saturday, August 3.

Albion can also confirm summer friendlies against Rotherham United and Scunthorpe United.

We will make the trip on Tuesday, July 23 (7.45pm ko) to AESSEAL New York Stadium, where the Baggies triumphed 4-0 in December's league meeting.

The Millers were defeated 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the end of April, a result which confirmed relegation to League One for the South Yorkshire outfit.

Albion will face Scunthorpe at Glanford Park on Saturday, July 20 (3pm ko).

The Iron, who last hosted the Baggies in a competitive fixture 10 years ago, suffered relegation to League Two last season.

Ticket details will be announced in due course for each of the club's pre-season fixtures.

Albion are looking to finalise arrangements for further domestic friendlies as well an overseas training trip, with further details to follow once confirmed.

Full fixtures for the 2019/20 Championship campaign are released on Thursday, June 20, with the club's first-team squad returning for pre-season training on Monday, June 24.
