Blind Dave film

‘Blind Dave’ Heeley's inspirational story reaches the big screen on Friday with the premiere of a new film ‘7 Days’.

The 45-minute movie, which includes footage shot on a matchday at The Hawthorns, takes viewers through the incredible story of Albion fanatic Dave as he overcame blindness to complete a series of staggering endurance challenges.

Dave's efforts alongside and on behalf of The Albion Foundation have raised millions of pounds for charity and saw him become the only recipient of a special Freedom of The Hawthorns Award in March 2017.

The uplifting film documents the story behind how Dave ran seven marathons across the seven continents in seven days.

"This doesn't happen to people like me, I still can't get my head around it," said Dave.

"It sort of embarrasses me really, I feel very privileged that Nige and the lads thought about covering my story.

"It's still a dream, a lovely dream at that."

Nigel Davey was joined alongside fellow local filmmakers Ian and Dominic Higgins to create the project from Pixel Revolution Films.

"At last, after two years of hard work it's finally here," smiled producer Nigel.

"We're excited to show the world Dave's story – I just hope they like how we've told it!

"Dave is an incredible man with an incredible story to tell – it's been a privilege to be able to create this piece."

Late April has been earmarked for when eager fans will be able to watch Dave's incredible story be re-told.
