Albion complete three deadline-day signings

Darren Moore hailed a transfer deadline day which yielded three newcomers with the promise that each would bring a new dimension to his promotion-challenging team.

The Baggies completed a day of constant arrivals at the Palm Training Ground by recruiting Jefferson Montero from Swansea, Jacob Murphy from Newcastle and Stefan Johansen from Fulham.

The trio arrived on loans until the end of the season and in time to bolster the Baggies as they prepare for the most hectic phase of the Sky Bet Championship campaign so far.

Saturday’s visit of Middlesbrough kicks off seven key games in 21 days for which Albion will now be able to call on the attacking wide play of Murphy and Montero and Johansen’s all-round midfield qualities.

“All three will give the team different dimensions,” said Head Coach Darren Moore. “All three have excellent experience and a real know-how of the division. They are good players with individual skill sets which will benefit the team.

“All are wonderful characters which everyone knows is so important to us. They will add more competition to the team and add to our depth and numbers at a crucial time.

“You only have to take one look at the fixture list over the next couple of months to see we have some great games coming up. I’ve tried to utilise the loan market as much as I can and maximise everything I am able to to help the squad.

“These players will do that.”
