Despite putting up a valiant effort, Albion Under-18s were unable to complete a comeback from three goals down against Middlesbrough at Rockliffe Park.
The hosts gained a three-goal lead midway through the game; Harry Green scored a quick-fire double just before the break and Cain Sykes netted the third in the 55th minute.
Tom Fellows clawed one back for the Baggies just after the hour mark, and then Jacob Wakeling scored five minutes later, to give Albion a fighting chance.
However, the Baggies were unable to grab a third, as Boro held on for a 3-2 victory.
