Albion defender Semi Ajayi was impressed with the way his teammates managed a series of misfortunate moments at Pride Park to gain a late point on Saturday afternoon.
The Baggies went down to an early Martyn Waghorn penalty before Sam Johnstone saved a contentious second spotkick, but Albion’s response and spirit to fight back and gain a point pleased Semi.
And Ajayi believes on another day Albion's one point could have been three.
“Everyone can see how the game has gone," said Semi.
"Some of the decisions that were made but I can only focus on our performance and we dealt with the setbacks really well.
“We came back and we never stopped fighting and we came away with a point and we could have got three on another day.
“It shows grit and determination but on the other hand we definitely need to start taking a lead in games because if we do that I think we will go on to dominate and add two, three or four goals.
“The fact we have to keep fighting back isn’t great but at the same time it’s good that we are showing the character to get back into games and never give up.
“I have got massive belief in this team so once we sort that out and start getting on top of games earlier, I’m sure we will kick on and be fine from there.
“No-one likes to lose. I hate losing, all my teammates hate losing so the fact that we have managed to stay unbeaten is really positive, it gives us confidence to take into our next game and long may this run continue.”
