Bilić rewards Baggies with break

Slaven Bilić has rewarded his players with their first break since June following their unbeaten start to the Sky Bet Championship campaign.

The Baggies have reached the September international hiatus nicely placed in fourth on 12 points - hitting the well-renowned promotion ratio of two-points-per-game from their opening six matches.

Slaven says his squad have earned a mini break of a couple of days to recover physically and mentally before they then return to action with a tough trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on September 14.

"I've said to the players they have earned a little rest because it's the first I've been able to give them since we came together towards the end of June," said the Baggies Head Coach.

"It is a good position to be in. I think of our first days' training hard in Benidorm and then the pre-season schedule and so many new players coming in.

"To now be unbeaten on 12 points after the first cycle of games is a good start and we know we are a team capable of good things.

"We are not excellent but we know we are good.

"We have many new faces and they are still gelling but the players can be pleased with their progress so far."
