‘Reidy’ returns to Albion

Steven Reid has returned to The Hawthorns to assist caretaker Head Coach Jimmy Shan for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

‘Reidy’ enjoyed four years as a player with Albion, earning and securing Premier League status during his tenure.

The 38-year-old has since earned his stripes as a coach under two former Baggies bosses - initially with Steve Clarke at Reading before joining Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.

Reid made 88 appearances for Albion between 2010 and 2014, scoring four goals.

Shan said: “He’s got some fantastic coaching experience with some high calibre managers and recent experience of going to the Play-Offs with Reading.

“I saw him coaching when he was still here as a player. He coached the under-18s, who I was in charge of, while he was doing his badges.

“He’s an outstanding individual with great integrity and just what we need for the challenge ahead.”
