Former Baggies to star in charity fun day

Albion legends from the past will don the famous blue-and-white stripes once more on Sunday in a charity match for Mary Stevens Hospice.

‘Super Bob’ Taylor and Geoff Horsfield are among an all-star cast of Baggies taking on Stourbridge Wolves in the annual fixture for the Jane Webb Memorial Trophy.

Admission is £5 for adults and free for under-16s with the match followed by a sporting memorabilia auction.

A family fun day - including bouncy castles, market stalls and a chance to meet the Albion stars - will commence at 1pm when the War Memorial Ground open.

Kick-off follows at 2.30pm with Dele Adebola, Deon Burton, Darren Byfield and Lee Hughes all on hand to ensure it’s a goal-fest.

James Chambers, Nigel Quashie and Ian Hamilton are among the other former Baggies to commit to the event which has raised more than £50,000 for the hospice since the inaugural fixture in 2016.

Families will also enjoy the spectacle of a race featuring famous children’s characters and mascots competing in an ‘It’s A Knockout’ style obstacle course on the pitch, sponsored by Fundraising Energy.
