Barry shines for England youngsters

Albion starlet Louie Barry notched two goals in four games as England Under-16s claimed a third-placed finish at the Montaigu Tournament in France.

The young forward netted against Argentina and featured in matches with Portugal and Brazil during the group stages, before then completing the scoring in England’s 4-0 win over Brazil in the third/fourth place play-off.

It’s not the first time that Louie has impressed for the Young Lions, memorably grabbing a brace against Brazil back in February and claiming the golden boot at a prestigious UEFA tournament before Christmas.

And Academy Manager Mark Harrison is pleased to see the youngster again enjoying a spell away at international level.

“We are delighted to see Louie have another really positive experience with England,” said Mark.

“To score against the likes of Argentina and Brazil is a great reflection on his continued development and to be part of a squad that finished third in a very prestigious international tournament is something that we are all very proud of.”
