TONY Mowbray’s Albion recorded their first Premier League win of the 2008/09 season with a 3-2 victory over West Ham United.
The game is notable for neither side having a shirt sponsor, Albion playing all season without one, West Ham having lost theirs when the company involved went out of business just ahead of the fixture - the logo covered up by a claret patch on their shirts.
In a pulsating game, James Morrison scored just three minutes in, West Ham were 2-1 up by the 35th minute, before a Roman Bednar penalty brought things level before the break. Chris Brunt won the game for the Throstles with a clinical finish seven minutes from time and Scott Carson produced a last-gasp save to preserve the three points.
