On this day in 1964...

Two penalties helped Bobby Cram towards a hat-trick against Stoke City as the Baggies came out on top against the Potters with a 5-3 win.

It is believed that Cram became only the second full-back ever to score a hat-trick in English league football, following on from Birmingham’s Stan Lynn six years before. 

Tony Brown and Kenny Foggo scored Albion’s other goals.
