Mozza 'delighted' to be back in league action

JAMES Morrison says involvement against Blackburn Rovers marks the end of a “long road” to recovery.

Morrison, who battled with injuries for the majority of last season, came through a physical test unscathed to complete his first 90 minutes of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship season.

And though the result wasn't what it could have been, he was thrilled to be back on the Hawthorns pitch.

"On a personal note I was delighted to be out there," he nodded.

"It's been a long road.

"I was saying to the missus 'I haven't played on a Saturday in ages'.

"If I can get more minutes under my belt I can definitely help the team.

"I'm glad to get 90 minutes.

"I'll tick that one off and move forward.

"It was a tough game and our third in a week against a good side.

"I think if we'd got the second goal it would have been game over.

"But we've fought, dug in and stopped the rot.

"After two defeats we'll take the positives from getting a point on the board.

"We've got a nice week to work on things before the Hull game."
