J-Rod sends best wishes to Raya

JAY Rodriguez has sent his best wishes to David Raya after the Blackburn keeper was stretchered off during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.

The Rovers No.1 stepped off his line to bravely claw the ball from the feet of Rodriguez - but in his attempt to jump clear of contact the Baggies striker collided with the face of Raya.

The Spanish stopper left the field following a lengthy delay before being taken to hospital and J-Rod hopes to see Raya back in action as soon as possible.

“It’s one of them where I’m chasing the ball, he’s come out, I’ve tried to get out the way but I’ve caught him with the top of my foot and I’m obviously gutted,” he said.

“His nose is in a bad way. I’ve been told he’s gone to hospital which I’m even more gutted about.

“I wish him well, it’s not a nice thing, and I hope he has a speedy recovery.

“Let’s hope he’s back on the pitch soon.”
