Points trump performance - Dawson

CRAIG Dawson has commended Albion for winning when not at their best at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Baggies found themselves a goal down inside the opening ten minutes against Swansea City but recovered to claim a 2-1 triumph courtesy of 'Daws' and defensive partner Ahmed Hegazi.

After comfortable victories against Leeds United and Ipswich Town, Albion were drawn into a tighter affair in South Wales.

But our centre-half was delighted to see "character and togetherness" carry Darren Moore's men to three more valuable points.

"It's a massive three points and we worked very hard," he said.

"It wasn't the best performance but the three points is what matters.

"We limited their chances and showed good character to come from a goal down.

"There's a lot of characters in the dressing room - togetherness is high.

"It's important we keep our run going and the fans stay behind us.

"The clean sheets will come but the most important thing is we're winning football matches.

"There's a lot of tough games coming but the group is strong."
