TEDDY Sandford (pictured with Stan Wood) played his first game for the Baggies, featuring in the 3-2 win at Preston North End.
Sandford scored on his debut at Deepdale, as did Wood and Jimmy Cookson.
Within six months, Sandford had an FA Cup winner’s medal and had helped Albion to promotion.
