TOM Pearson notched Albion’s first ever Football League hat-trick and then went one better by adding a fourth as the Throstles won 6-3 over Bolton Wanderers at Stoney Lane.

Billy Bassett and “Spry” Woodhall completed the scoring for Albion.

Pearson added two more hat-tricks before the season was over, giving him a league tally of 17 goals from just 22 games, almost double the total of Albion’s next best goalscorer Jem Bayliss on nine.
