Fitzwater extends Hawthorns stay

JACK Fitzwater has his sights set on Albion's first team after signing a new and improved deal with the Club.

The 20-year-old defender, who impressed during loan spells with Forest Green Rovers and Walsall last season, has committed his future to the Baggies until the summer of 2020.

Jack netted three goals in 15 games for the Saddlers, contributing to five clean sheets as Dean Keates' men secured League One safety.

He'll continue his development with Darren Moore's Baggies in preparation for the coming campaign. But he's not just here to make up the numbers.

"I'm really excited that it's all sorted and I can look forward to next season," Jack smiled.

"I've always said that I want to be at this club. I've been here since I was seven and this is where I want to make it.

"Hopefully this is the time for me to break into the first team and push into the starting eleven."

And there was special praise reserved for our Head Coach Darren Moore and First-Team Coach Jimmy Shan as 'Fitzy' signed on the dotted line.

He added: "Jimmy's been here as long as I have! I've been with him and Mooro all the way through the academy.

"The three of us have a really positive working relationship and I'm excited to continue working with them."
