Bartley signs for Albion

ALBION can today confirm the signing of defender Kyle Bartley from Swansea for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old towering central-defender has signed a three-year contract and trained with his new team mates for the first time today in readiness for Friday’s next pre-season friendly at Aberdeen.

Kyle is our second new recruit of the summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from Manchester United.

“I’m absolutely delighted Kyle has joined us,” said Head Coach Darren Moore. “He’s got great presence about him and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Kyle has come to the Baggies hoping to end some nomadic years which have seen him earn rave reviews in the Championship on loan at Birmingham City and Leeds United.

He said: “After speaking with Darren I knew this was the place I wanted to be be. He let me know his ideas for the season and the next few years, his ambitions for the club and he told me about the fan base and the facilities. I’m hoping to be involved quickly.”
