HIGHLIGHTS as Albion continued their preparation for the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign with an entertaining win at Barnsley.
Darren Moore brought a travelling party of 20 players to Oakwell on Tuesday evening, with Harvey Barnes included just hours after agreeing a season-long loan from Leicester City.
Craig Dawson saw match action for the first time this season, with Salomon Rondon returning to the bench after missing the friendly against Aberdeen on Friday with a slight knock.
Sam Johnstone, Gareth Barry, Sam Field and Oliver Burke remained at Palm Training Ground for a behind-closed-doors run-out against Brentford earlier in the afternoon.
The Baggies were 1-0 winners against the Bees, with Burke netting the only goal of the game. And there was more success 100 miles up the M1 at Oakwell.
But it didn't start smoothly.
The hosts took the lead from a corner in the 6th minute, Lloyd Isgrove beating Jonathan Bond to the ball at the near post.
And it was 2-0 just five minutes later when Kieffer Moore headed home - via the woodwork - from inside the penalty area.
Jake Livermore and Kyle Bartley could have halved the deficit before the break but their efforts were bravely blocked by Barnsley defenders.
Hal Robson-Kanu made no mistake with his header, though. The Wales international brought the Baggies back into the game in stoppage time, converting Chris Brunt's trademark free-kick.
And Albion were level immediately after the restart, James Morrison scything the ball into the top right-hand corner.
The turnaround was complete in the 52nd minute when Dimitri Cavare sliced into his own net under pressure from Jay Rodriguez.
The game looked to be ambling to its conclusion until Bond produced a stunning save to deny Isgrove a sumptuous second in the 74th minute.
From there, new-boy Barnes showed what he can offer with a crisp break and drive which stung the gloves of Jack Walton in the Tykes goal.
And Darren Moore breathed a sigh of relief as namesake Kieffer fluffed the chance to equalise from ten yards - the last action of the second period.
