Shan ahead of Saints PL2 clash

JAMES Shan hopes his side can keep up their good form when they travel to Southampton in a Premier League 2 Division Two game on Monday.

Albion’s under-23s have won their last two fixtures in all competitions, but will be without the likes of Jack Fitzwater, Kyle Howkins and Max Melbourne who all went out on loan on deadline day.

“We did really well against both Ipswich and Fulham,” said Shan.

“But with some of the lads going out on loan for the rest of the season we’ll have to adapt our style a little bit.

“The positives are that it gives the younger players a chance again. They’ve had a couple of weeks out of it and had a good rest, so that will put them in good stead for the remainder of the campaign.

“Southampton have a strong DNA and they’ll pose a real attacking threat to us.

“I’ve watched them a few times and they’ve got a number of players who I believe can make that next step into the first team, so it’ll be a tough test but one I’m looking forward to.”
